Gŵyl Grefft Cymru / Craft Festival Wales
CARDIGAN CASTLE
Come and meet the makers at Craft Festival Wales
Cardigan will be bursting with creativity as the inaugural Craft Festival Wales takes place at Cardigan Castle and around the town from September 6 to
8th.
The event is a warm and welcoming celebration of creativity, and opportunity to meet the makers and buy unique handmade craft.
Exhibitors at Craft Festival Wales have been selected for the quality and originality of their work. They include both local craft professionals and many travelling to
Cardigan for the first time from across England, Scotland, Ireland and other parts of Wales.
Craft Festival is a not-for-profit enterprise led by Sarah James MBE, who was born and bred in Cardigan.
As well as 80 professional makers exhibiting their craft for sale, the event includes craft workshops, demonstrations and talks by leading makers including Keith Brymer-Jones the potter, author and broadcaster and Ashraf Hanna, the international acclaimed ceramic artist based in Pembrokeshire. Talks will be delivered in both English and Welsh.
A programme of pre-bookable adult craft workshops will also be available.
Around Cardigan the Craft Trail in collaboration with Oriel Myrddin and six local venues including Mwldan will feature new work by leading makers inspired by the National Museum Collection.
Also, a rich programme of free craft activities for children is part of Craft Festival Wales plus live music, storytelling and theatre performance.
