MAPPA MUNDI: CANTERBURY TALES 2008
Cyd-Gynhyrchiad Theatr Mwldan | Mappa Mundi Co-Production
Tour Dates: 3 October – 15 November 2008
Mappa Mundi’s revival of their sell-out take on Chaucer’s text transforms his tales into a dramatic and comical show, full of wit and charm. As they make their annual pilgrimage to Canterbury, a group of Welsh commoners pass the time by performing some of Chaucer’s most appealing tales, including The Miller’s Tale, The Nun’s Priest’s Tale and The Wife of Bath’s Tale. Boisterous comedy, romance, fetching imagery and a dramatic score combine for fast paced entertainment guaranteed to put hairs on your chest.
Opening at Mwldan before a full UK tour, a light-hearted and slightly naughty evening is in store as the excellent Mappa Mundi take to the road with this adaptation of medieval literature’s best-known work. Suitable for audiences aged 12 and over.
"Unashamedly populist, cleverly conceived and riotously funny” Western Mail (on Mappa Mundi’s Canterbury Tales)
